Some more pics of the cage, since it's the only new thing. Apparently I can turn any camera I own into a phone camera- I blame my incredible skills.

Notice how far back and low we moved the driver's seat. Not sure if totally legal for the class I want to run- and not sure if I care. If it's not legal, I'll just have to try harder.

The cage was built by Blackbird Fabworx in Canoga Park. Moti's the fabricator and is extremely dedicated to the art. I will weigh the car soon and report back with a weight.

I bought a second E36, so things have been a little slow. At least it's a 55k mile sedan in a 1 of 52 color scheme.

Wife's brother now races, so she watched him and now she wants to get on track, so we'll more than likely prep my E36 coupe for track days.

Boston Green over Modena. M3. 5-speed, but not a slicktop. Virtually no wear but some typical E36 problems- faded rear tray, sagging headliner. Also, let me clarify about the color scheme- there were 113 sedans made in Boston Green over Modena, 61 of which were automatic, 52 of which were manual.

The car needs nothing, but I'm probably going to install a Bear SSK, new engine mounts, new trans mounts, RTAB limiters, Dinan fixed camber plates and Rogue RSMs.

Update: Nothing has changed. I've moved twice since the car got caged and now am in a house of my own with an 875 square foot shop. It's a sloped roof that makes storage difficult, so the 240 is now both a shelf and a container.

Once I sell my e30 project, I'm going to spend some time, remove the engine and trans and sell them. I'm going to have Blackbird Fabworks finish the cage after I build the front tubs, finalize the steering linkage, and decide on the pedal box. We'll probably partially tube-frame the front end as well. After that, I need to make an engine choice followed by a trans choice. I am leaning toward a Honda K-series as they're light, reliable, make enough horsepower NA for me to be happy, and take boost well if I decide I need more power. That K-series will be backed with as light of a transmission as I can afford.

The car's going to be built for, at most, five-to-seven-lap sprints. If I have to replace certain parts after an event, so be it. I just want to be the lightest 240SX at any event- and hopefully the fastest as well.

I'm going to go overboard. It's going to be very expensive for no reason other than I get to try things that hopefully I can transfer to client builds.

Considering mixing my love for drift style with my want to build a time attack car and running either Origin Racing Line aero customized for more function, or Uras Type-GT aero customized for more function. No matter what, nothing off the shelf is going to work for what I want.

I know I'm not going to have the fastest car, so I'd at least like to have something that would look at home in Tsukuba's pits. Plus, as much as it pains me to say it, all these crazy-aero cars are hideous. I'm trying to stay enthusiastic about a build that's been stagnant for the past six years.

I sold my dual-projector headlights and turn signals and hate myself for it. Now I'm going to have to pay 50% more for a set for my next street build. This car's getting fiberglass inserts instead of headlights.

Slow, slow progress toward getting my e30 project out of my hair and it funding some forward momentum on the S13. Also, I've been buying up some parts for my next street build despite it not being in the cards for a while so that's been setting me back.

Anyone have an inkling what this car might be worth as seen in the last pics? Life may get wonky for me and I'm checking out my options... including selling the car I've had for nearly 19 years.

                  I apologize, but.
IMHO, immediately after extensive modifications (i.e. engine swap, radical suspension changes, roll cage) cars become almost unsellable . People who are interested in all these matters don't want to buy a complete project, they want to do everything themselves, accordingly to their own understanding. And those who are ready to buy - they don't need all this shit, they want a stock car.

I don't figure it's worth much, but it's something that I've been thinking about. We'll see how 2023 goes; I have four other vehicles I can sell before I get this desperate.
