10 year hiatus lol, Good thing you kept it.

What part of the country are you in?

Yeah i thought about getting rid of it several time but was just too attached to it. I was really worried it would be a bitch to get it running again but it really wasn't too bad. A rat chewed though the coolant hoses under the intake manifold so that was the biggest pain.

I am located in San Francisco.

Nice pic! How did the drop knuckles change your set up? Are you happy with the current spring rates?

It is kinda hard to say how the knuckles changed the feel. I put them in pretty recently and need a few more track days to get a better feel or them.

I am generally pretty happy with the way car feels but I think it does pushes a bit more than I would like it to. I recently also went from Hawk HT10 to Winmax W5 which should let me try and trail brake a bit better. I did not like the HT10s because they basically felt like an off/on switch. Weird part about the Feal coilovers is they were recommending 10/6 kg/mm but i think 10/7 still pushes a bit.

Either way take all my opinions with a grain of salt lol. I am still pretty new to track driving and I am overly conservative on the track.

I watched your Laguna Seca video. It looked like you were really gentle/slow rolling into the throttle. Is that to avoid exacerbating the understeer?

If you don't mind, perform this test for both the front and rear, and let me know what frequencies you get.

Hmm I gotta think about that, I feel like I get on the gas pretty quickly but maybe not. I am generally partial throttle through the turns.

In the video the throttle position is delayed and a pretty bad sampling rate.

Some notes on the video https://youtu.be/EeK0dAfm5tA:
T2 I was not taking best line, should of started alot wider.
T3 hate this turn, it always just feels shitty. Car has the worst under steers there. I don't need to brake for it.
T4 should be close to full throttle through there.
                T5 I over break here.
T6 another full throttle turn. I started to lift a bit because of the dip in the apex unsettles the car a bit too much for my liking.
T8 car feels pretty good in the corkscrew.
T9 favorite turn on the track. It's a fun, long and fast turn. Car definitely tracks out with added throttle.
T10 car feels pretty good here.
T11 car feels good here till I brake too deep into the corner 😂 https://youtu.be/9buKvQmJ-XU

i will try that test you asked but it might a while car is on it's throne of Jack stands.

That's interesting. I have their 441+ "Road Race" setup on my S14, and I have 9k/7k. I didn't have any issues with it pushing at low to moderate speeds, but it understeered a little at high speed. What is your alignment set at? I have drop knuckles in the rear, but factory in the front (long story) with roll center correction on both FLCA and outer tie rods (which increases ackermann a bit) for comparison, so not exactly apples to apples for you.

Yeah I am going to have some one who knows what they are doing drive my car. I have only driven this car on the track so might not have the best reference.

The alignment is -3/-2.5 camber and 0 toe.

I am thinking of getting the rear drop knuckle and lower control arms for the rear. Also changing out all the bushings to solid.

You can try running a little less camber in the rear. I typically run -1.5 in the rear and -3.5 up front. I also have toe-out up front for better turn-in and a little toe-in on the rear for stability. I'd have to check my setup binder for exact measurements, but it isn't much toe.

I ran about -1.8 on my S13 and was getting rear outer wear after adding aero. The fronts also wanted some more negative camber to keep wear even - think I was in the -3.8 to -4ish range. I just kept adding in a bit more until wear and temps evened out.

The rear needed about -2.0 to even out wear fully, but I was worried about adding more rear grip on cornering. It already had too much in the rear compared to front.

Yeah, my car has no aero like the OP. Aero changes everything, LOL. It's going to be interesting re-setting up my car once I'm done with the aero package (and everything else going into it...)

It feel stable under heavy breaking with the front toed out?

Yes, you only need a hair toe out. I think I run 1/16" of toe out up front.
