    Hey dudes,

Just curious, I'm trying to help our team's new composite guy get up to speed as quickly as possible and I noticed there isn't a single forum on any of the 240 sites that is specific to composites. Is anyone interested in having and helping with something like this? I figured I'd start here since most of the other sites won't have to many people that care about anything more than cosmetic stuff.

I can certainly make an additonal forum that caters to fiberglass and carbon.

Once I made a cool fiberglass sub box in the trunk of my first S14. Then I sold it to someone else when I crashed my car.

That's all I've got...I thought about making some ducting out of FG for brakes and oil cooler, but I don't think it's necessary at this point.

That would be great! I could care less about the cosmetic.

Like these? I was going to put them on whenever I get around to doing the front splitter.

I got the first batch when he first started making them (cheap), I can't afford the kit he has now.

its only been a week, give him a lil time to get it started for ya.

None of the other forums have a composits section because alot of people know about it and have read about it, but dont actually do much with it.

I have been through training programs for aviation composits and such but dont have much hands-on experience besides making some molds for fender flares that I havnt done anything with since i finished the molds. As long as the new section is strict to construction for us grassroots racers and less geard towards perfect auto-claved and vacuum-bagged dry carbon pieces then i am very interested.

The new section should benefit us so we can make things in our garage and not so much worry about how things need to be perfect since none of us have the time, money or tooling to knock out pre-preg awesomeness.

That sounds like a forum to get excited about. I'd like to see a sticky with links to good information online and book titles.

i PM'd a mod about getting an "EVENTS" section, with no response.

i have a feeling those changes wont come too fast. I am very happy with this forum as is so any changes they have time to make are more than welcome even if they are delayed.

while we are here, does anyone know if I can use the factory rear seat foam as a mould, and glass over the top of it. Or will it react with the hardner etc and eat away at the foam.

Just so I can make some rear seats without destroying my originals
