Nice - it's on my to-do list sometime in the next few years to make the time to trek down there and do a DE.

What's the cost like for a weekend? Any particular groups you'd recommend?

It's between $650 and $800 for a weekend. Depends on season and sound level. I volunteer for NCRC so I am biased. This is their calendar: https://americanracingclub.com/CALENDAR/ .

Hmmm.. 90 dB is like totally muffled stock car right? I don't think my MR2 would meet that even with silencers in the exhaust.

It’s 90 db at 30 ft or so. There is a sound booth between t5 and t6. My s14 passes with hks exhaust.
NCRC will have at least one 105db day but will be expensive.

Google "Laguna Pipe". As olegyef says the sound booth is on the right hand side going up the hill between T5 and T6, so people bolt on a 90deg pipe which turns up and to the left. We did ChampCar there a year or two ago, and as I recall there were very few problems, just a couple of the V8 guys who got warnings on the Friday.

Gotcha. I would be fine running the silencers in my Berk exhaust, as it's still about the area of a 2.5" tube or so. It knocks the sound level down a bit but doesn't completely kill power on the 11-12 psi setting I'd track it at.

I might still fab up a set of tubes to direct exhaust away. I'll have to look into it more as I get some more confidence with driving the car a day, tracking it a weekend, then driving it home.
