Is it possible to buy a replacement set (or is there a recommended place to buy these) of the grade 8 bolts, high temperature spring washers(belleville washers), and military spec jet nuts for the hat to rotor connection? Mine still "look" fine, but it would be nice to change them out in the next major upgrade since it's been a few years.

    Thanks.

Are they actually belleville washers in that kit? I thought they were just flat ones. The pinch from the jet nuts is sufficient to prevent loosening. The only locking washers that work effectively to prevent loosening when clamping hard materials (i.e.-metal) are wedgelock and/or serrated ones. IIRC, the OD needs to be smaller than standard for washers in his kit also, which can also be found here: https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/pr...?Product=AN960

    • Tom beat me to it.

I bought mine on ebay. I ended up replacing just the nuts instead of all of the hardware since I figured the nut was the real wear item.

I gave all my spares to the guy on here who bought my Wilwood kit.

        Bolts are 5/16-24" x 1" grade 8. Nuts are MS21042-5

The early kits shipped with belleville washers just to make sure they wouldn't loosen (preload changes quite a bit as things get hot), but in testing regular washers were fine with the MS21042 nuts. So if you change them, I recommend changing to NAS1149C washers, 0.032" thick for a 5/16" fastener (I think P/N is NAS1149C5032 from memory, mcmaster lists it out if you search for NAS1149).

        • Side note, I almost went with these aircraft 160 ksi shear bolts back in the day: https://military-fasteners.com/bolts...lts/NAS6205-10

But I didn't think people would pay the roughly $10/kit cost to have cool dimple head NAS bolts. These should work, verify your total grip length(brake rotor mount height + hat mount height + 2x 0.032" washer for both sides) is roughly equal to this grip length or a bit less. You want at least 1.5 threads protruding from the nut to fully engage the locking feature.

You can change to high temperature superalloy A286 with changing it to NAS6305, change to Titanium 6-4 with NAS6405. All have the same 160 ksi of strength, but the Ti bolts will be most limited in life, followed by the 6205 carbon steel bolts, then the 6305 bolts. 6205 bolts should last as long as any grade 8 bolt, or longer.
