  • Motion Ratio Numbers for 300zx

Has anyone done the geometry on the z32 300zx front and rear suspension to get the motion ratio percentage?

The rear should be the same as the s13.

I planned on figuring it out this weekend, but thought someone here may have already done the math.

If not, I'll figure it out. Thanks in advance.

I haven't seen the numbers before. If you do calculate it, please post it up.

Probably about 0.9. The front shocks mount right onto the uprights. Also with stock spring rates being something like 168F/134R with 53% front weight bias, the front motion ratio shouldn't be far from the rear.

Hand grenade math doesn't work when you're trying to do things right...

then for that matter there is no right answer because if the shock mounts to the upright camber changes motion ratio...

Actually hai1606vn is correct. I dont have the numbers right in front of me but the 0.9 is about right for the front. The rear was around 0.87 or so.

              awesome.

              so glad I found this.
I'm starting the process of measuring out and "paper building" the suspension in my car. There's gotta be a ton of room for improvement. My Z holds the ground better than most of my 240s, but that's pretty much just the extra weight.
