  • 350Z steering rack

Is there any reason I should not use an OEM rack from a 350Z in a tube chassis mostly street car I am building?
I am not real familiar with some of the new stuff and want to make sure it is a basic hydraulic power assist unit....want to make sure a computer is not involved.

No idea here...any good reason not to use a more readily available older school unit?

      tube frame street car? uhhhhhh...

just use a manual rack if you're building a tube frame. won't be that heavy.

I have one with a broken steering arm on one side I'd sell you for cheap

Looks identical to a 240sx unit except slightly different mounting.

Probably not...just building it with the same track width as a 350z and using 350z uprights and hubs so figured I would keep it simple...or at least in my mind simple.

Building a GT1/Trans Am style square tube chassis under a 240z shell. Might do some track days or something but mostly just a street toy...and always wanted to build street legal race car, so here goes!
Probably won't weigh much more than 2000 i'm guessing but will probably run a 275/35/18 on the front so will have a good amount of tire to crank on. Only two creature comforts are A/C and power steering.

haha...I'm not a 350z guy so didn't have a clue. So does this thing have any wires hooked to it or is it simply hydraulic?
I wonder if it damaged the gears? Which side is bent?
