Let's say a fella was looking for a QR25DE out of a 2007 up Sentra SpecV with the forged goodies, is there a way to tell from the VIN if it's the real thing, or do you need numbers directly off the motor? Said fella doesn't want to get taken to the cleaners for bogus goods. Thanks!

You should be able to determine model year and whatnot from VIN without issue. If you know someone at a Nissan stealership, they should be able to look up the VIN and get a manufacturing date from it. I'm not sure if FAST has that type of decode ability in the newer models (the latest version I have is about 2003).
Personally, I wouldn't touch a QR25. Unless they changed the design, the stroke is too long which makes stupid high piston speeds. OK for a daily driver, but not great for performance.Originally posted by SoSidewaysI don't care what color they are as long as they are LONG AND HARD.
