  • Totally badass -- the mother of all s14 projects

    Build Thread: http://www.sxoc.co.uk/vbb/showthread.php?t=374790

    Article: http://speedhunters.com/archive/2008...track-car.aspx

Like I said those dutch, uk, german and swede s chassis owners are out of their minds, bad ass projects to the bone compared to any projects we have in the western American hemisphere.

I only don't dig the roof scoop haha

Nice car, but I've got to wonder where he's going to race it.

I really wonder why he doesn't talk about suspension - there should be way more effort spent there than on stuff like aero/making custom front bumpers IMO.

He's not winning any awards with the engine either. I've got more spares than he has in use.

Can't say I disagree with his approach on the engine - it looks like that should provide plenty of power and be reliable on track usage as long as his cooling is up to the task.

The suspension looks pretty rough though... Tein Flex's with some low rate K-Sport springs? bleh

Head package and turbo are a mismatch, but that could be fixed with a smaller ar exhaust housing. I'm having a hard time figuring out what's going on with his fuel setup, which is complete overkill for a 350whp setup. Who recircs a speed density setup then leaves the valve cover vents unhandled? A temp switch in the upper rad hose and ProfecB specII? His S14 PFC should handle both of those functions.

But hey, he's got a pedal box and a fire system. It must be a racecar!

The work looks top notch, though. It's just going to suck when he shows up at Silverstone and gets worked by a bolt-ons GTi-R.

Pretty sure he's talking about brakes with the Ksport reference.

So suspension and brakes are total crap. But he does have a sweet pedal box.

Oh and Corbeau seats, what kind of real race car has those crappy seats in it?

But it looks like it's really fast.

lol it took the guy 3 years to do all the aero work, underneath car, over car, etc... that's all :P

I totally agree on the parts thta actually matter though lol. He ran out of money. At least he has vision. Totally big suck on tein flexes and ksport brakes apparently those UK guys love them and say they work great so who knows.. ksport is more 'popular' in the uk lol. Totally missed out on alot of things but gotta give the guy credit forall the work by himself by hand.

its a great vision and a good direction. But with so much dedication and time spent on aero and body work and then taking the easy way out on the engine and suspension is just a huge cop out. I think itll end up show car, ot like the Tein RB S15 that was supposed to be this HUGE time attack killer or drift car that just disappeared and never placed in anything.

Without any track tiem and development i think most of these purpose built cars just end up having lost of problem areas that are easy to blame and hard to identify/fix. Seat time and post-event analysis/adjustments is true car development IMO.

He should have saved some money and put it towards seat time and then realized where the aero would benefit and the power would be unusable.

I could rant about this direction and development for hours so ill cut myself off meow. Those of you who know how i operate and go about tracking and modifying will understand.

That's because JUST like here 99.9% of the cars modified there, never see any form of motorsports use.

I hope not . Although, most of the track events I go to I'm usually the only s14 out there.
