  • OBX s13 KA24DE headers?

Both claim to be the same thing, and yet, the bottom one looks better put together or am I wrong? Both are stated as OBX... one is brand new the other is 6 months old. The 6 month old one is the bottom one, but if you look at the joints, welds, where the pieces connect they are put together differently....

    Opinions?

hard to tell from the pictures. but if they were of different qualities, I wouldn't be surprised, I'm guessing quality control isn't very good... I saw one in person, not bad for the price, I'd run it if I didn't care about my hearing.

well if you observe the welds and where the pipes are split and joined you'll notice the differences... I have a trained eye for this stuff... otherwise im just tired and imagining things but they are not the same... you got a point about them not having quality control though...

I don't want to make a jump on it then though...

Noise wise.. I doubt it'll be that much of an increase... i will run 2.5" piping with 22" resonator and muffler... high flow catco cat... so combined with this i dunno... The second picture one got sold though... no longer available, while the other guy's shiny new one which looks inferior is still available,,,

It'll be really loud probably. I don't think a header is worth it for a street car. The second one is a different color b/c SS discolors once it gets hot.

I had a hotshot, then sold it. The noise isn't bad on short drives, but after driving hours to track events, then going WOT on a track the whole day, then driving back home for another few ours made me decide the extra 4-5whp wasn't worth the headaches it was giving me.

I wouldn't let quality of the header turn me away, given price is reasonable. Like I said the quality wasn't bad, iirc the iteration of the OBX header that I saw had a little bit of trouble going on the car, but nothing that couldn't be solved easily. But like turtl said, I don't think it's worth it, hurts your ears.

Yeah if she was a trailer queen i wouldnt mind... ill still have to drive to the track.... and tracks are no where near to me... so meh... yet so tempting at the same time hehe...

An exhaust tip silencer goes a long way for long highway drives.
