  • How many gallons per hour

We ran the Chumpcar 24 hour race last weekend and burned 7.5 gallons per hour. To me that seems like a lot. A frend of mine races a vg3.3 and only burns 5 gph. Any thoughts on this. Our engine is a 91 ka24de that is stock fresh rings and berrings and head. We installed a new narrow band o2 sensor.

We did finish 8th overall only one small problem the dist. went bad lost about 26laps replacing that.

Sounds about right to me. My S13 at a little above 300 rwhp will do that in about 30-35 mins of track time.

My stockish NA KA burns 6 gal in a 40 minute race, so you're in the ballpark.
You could lower the revs to gain efficiency, but you'll go slower doing it.

without better tuning, that's about as good as it is going to get.

Did you replace the MAF with one from a different car or just a new unit?

What happened to your AFR when you did that?
Sure, run it lean as hell, lose power, and possibly burn pistons.. it'll get great mileage!

The MAF came out of another car from pic and pull

I have no idea what the AFR is we just have a stock computer no way to tune But the rear bumper where the exhaust comes out the white paint is very dark almost black I am guessing thats unburned fuel. I will say I thought the engine ran better and made more power.

yeah.. stick a wideband O2 sensor on there and see what you're actually getting.
