  • Electric fans, ducting and controll?

I just learned that my aftermarket waterpump for my CA18 is designed for FWD cars and does not take the extra load from the stock fan very well.

So I'm on the lookout for an electric fan.
What should I get? One big or two smaler ones. What CFM is concidered good?
Has anyone used an electric fan + strock shroud with success?
What do you use to controll the fan?

I have a 50 mm Alu radiator from Apex Performance (regular china one) and if it's possible I would like to keep the stoch shroud.

    /Marcus

I don't even have the high speed working on mine and the engine stays perfectly cool. Best $20 I've spent on my car.

Same here. For the little modification needed to fit them, it's totally worth it. OEM reliability too

They've got to cross over, Maxima's have similar fans. So do the B13/B14 cars, but IIRC they don't flow the same.

                93-02 V8 / 96ish?-02 V6 camaro/firebird fans, custom shroud

Better than altima fans, but you better have an upgraded alternator, works amazing with a/c.

For control you can either use a simple thermo switch and some relays, or a box like the dif, or dakota digital fan controllers, I strongly suggest using external relays even if the box you have has internal relays.

We used a V6 Camaro fan on a buggy once, you're super right about about it needing a real deal alterantor

On an SR with quest alternator its a great upgrade, made a box shaped aluminum shroud, dif fan controller with triple relays for high/low series/parallel operation of them, it works tony the tiger grrrreat.
