  • Rear axle washers and adjusting cap

How important are these rear axle washers, adjusting cap insulator, and adjusting caps, parts denoted 43222C, 43265E, and 43265 respectively to the bottom right of the pic? I can't seem to find them anywhere in my garage.... Just seems like the insulator and adjusting cap are there for tension agains the cotter pin and the axle washer may help to put a uniform force against the hub?

You need that cap or else the axle nut will come loose.

    At least in my experience.

Any washer will work, as will any generic axle cap nut with provisions for the cotter key
