  • Anyone have a working Valve Spring Compressor for SR20

Really don't want to take the head off.

I've tried a few different ones but very unsuccessful. Can't seem to get the lowest ring compressed enough to get the clamps out.

has anyone got one to work, if so which one.

I have smoke on decel and theres shiny black stuff in the exhaust port (pre turbo). Upon inspection i found one of the round spring things that keep the valve seal tight to the stem has come off. its just one seal so it would just suck to take the whole head off for one seal.

The snap on tool works, or other knock offs of it. You bolt it down to the cam journals all the way across.

Buy the "knock off" , as def said bolts to the ends of the head, bar goes through the plates, pivot deal squishes the spring.

Im about dead certain the snapon one is the knockoff, just one of those things they buy and sell you as their own for some serious profit.

I will actually need this same thing in the future. If you don't see yourself needing it after this usage, let me know and I'll pick it up off your hands.

Usage tip, quickly smacking it down to actually getting the spring to compress and not just open the valve works a lot better than pressing and holding, seperate them, then press & hold.

              Grave digging here.

Anyone know if this one would work on a SR for replacing springs in the car.
Getting valve float and need to get some supertech singles and put them in.

That's the one I bought and never used myself, but a friend has used it on his SR and said it works fine.

Glad to hear it cause I ordered it. Need to get some springs installed. This valve float above 20psi sucks.
