I am planning on upgrading to an adjustable front sway bar and need some opinions. The most popular one I have seen is the whiteline bar, which is 27mm solid, but everyone who I have seen running one runs it at full stiff. Which tells me that it is not stiff enough. I want to have the car perform best 90% of the time on the middle setting so that if I need to make an adjustment I can go in either direction, depending on what feels better. The only other adjustable front sway options that I have seen are the progress one (27mm hollow?) and the largus one (32mm hollow). The progress one will not be any stiffer than the whiteline bar and most likely actually softer so I really don't think that is what I want. The largus bar on the other hand will certainly be stiffer than the whiteline one, but will not be a large amount stiffer than the whiteline one since it is hollow. I would VASTLY prefer a hollow bar as they are lighter. The rear sway bar is not an issue since I will either run no rear sway or the stock 15mm rear sway depending on the track and conditions. I guess my question is what do you guys think would be best? I am leaning towards the largus bar, but if anyone has a compelling argument against it I would like to hear it.

I currently have a Largus, Whiteline, and Progress bar sitting in my garage, but I'm only keeping the Progress.
I had to wait a while for it, but even though it's a 30mm solid bar, it's actually a hair lighter than the 27mm Whiteline. It comes with some real nice spherical endlinks made from Aurora bits, and should have a wider range of adjustment than either the Whiteline or Largus. It was also the cheapest of the 3 bars (paid $190 shipped for it).
I thought I would need a Largus, too, but after comparing it to the others, it looks like it might be the worst. It's pretty light, but it only comes with bracket bushings (no endlinks) and it's outrageously expensive. The adjustment holes are really close together, too, which leads me to believe that it's range isn't that great... so if it's too stiff or too soft, you're pretty much stuck.
I vote Progress. It's going to be heavier, but IMO, you get much more for your money and a better bar, and that more than makes up for it. -
So the progress bar is 30mm SOLID and comes with the endlinks? I thought it was 28mm hollow. If that is the case then the progress bar is the front runner as of right now. In my OP I confused the progress bar with hotchkins, so when I was referring to hotchkins I really meant progress.
EDIT: I just checked their website and the progress front bar for s-13 is 27mm, not sure if it is solid or hollow.Last edited by racepar1; 04-29-2008, 03:39 PM.function > form

I think it was Wiisass who tested the S13 version, and their adjustment range is something like stockish, to about Tanabe stiffness, to super-duper stiff (or something to that effect).Comment

How much heavier is the Progress bar than stock? I've always heard wildly varying qualitative views ranging from "not much more" to "it's like a boat anchor" compared with a hollow bar. Would be nice to get some solid numbers.'18 Chevrolet Volt - Electric fun hatch for DD duty!
