I'm installing yellow Koni's on my 1992 240sx - the rears have to be adjusted off the car. These are combined with a set of Eibach Pro-kit springs. I am a beginner, really beginner, road racer - the car is not used on the street at all. So what setting do you suggest for the rear shocks?

Eibach pro-kits are not NEAR stiff enough for the track.
As for the rear yellows, I'd say about 1/3 to 1/2 from full soft would be a good range for a spring that soft.'18 Chevrolet Volt - Electric fun hatch for DD duty!

Everyone say hi to Dad. (yeah, I have to watch my manners now!)
I figured the Eibachs are a cheap and easy setup for him to get started on. After the rest of the car's bugs are worked out and he's got more track time, it'll be time for something better.. Then I'll beat him up on a set of 8610s or something.Originally posted by SoSidewaysI don't care what color they are as long as they are LONG AND HARD.

That's fine. Just don't think the car is garbage when it keeps bottoming out in corners!'18 Chevrolet Volt - Electric fun hatch for DD duty!

yeah, I knew better than that. didn't know what else was out there for regular springs that were good. Eibachs are the 'standard' on Maximas since they don't drop the car too much and they're the stiffest thing on the market outside of coilovers.Originally posted by SoSidewaysI don't care what color they are as long as they are LONG AND HARD.

update
thanks for your thoughts guys. So far I just left the yellow
Koni's set at their shipping setting. took the car for another unlicensed spin around the area - - - compared to the 20 year old OEM shocks i pulled off, I got a real sporty ride. Now compared to some hi perf. set ups I'm sure it's pretty squishee, but for this 2nd time to the track next week old man, I'm expecting to have a way better performing/cornering car. As I gain seat time, I'll talk with you guys before I do more suspension upgrades and spend my next $$$.

I'm in the same boat...I don't know where I want to go with suspension (and the car itself really) but yellows were cheap and an upgrade from the 14-15 year old OEMs that had disintegrating dust boots that were jamming up into the piston.97 Kouki SR 240
