  • n00b Q.. Where can I find SR20DET engine/turbo specs?

I have an S14 and S15 FSM, but looking in the EM section they don't list squat about the turbo itself- make, model, etc..

I need all of this information from 'official' sources in order to get it homolgated to run in SCCA next year. i.e. the wiki page and internet forums don't work. needs to be in print somewhere.

I also need the specs for S13 SR as well.. I know there are some differences but I'm an idjit when it comes to the SR so someone will need to hold my hand there.

Can any of you fine folks help me out with some of this info?

FSM for the Japanese models would have most of it. I'll have to look again though.

Garrett has a page that lists the p/n for the Spec R S15 GT2560R as the stock SR20Det turbo.

I've got the FSM for the S14 and S15 silvia and don't see it mentioned. I may be looking int he wrong place though. (Which is why I'm asking the question. )

Off the top of my head, main differences between S13 and S14 SR are the turbo (T25 vs T28) and VTC (S13 lacks it, S14 has it on the intake cam).

Part numbers... especially supplier part numbers are not mentioned in the FSM.

That's the stock S14/S15 "T28." The stock S13 T25 is not available from Garrett in the aftermarket that I've seen. It is somewhat similar to the GT2554R, but it's not ball bearing, and probably has a different wheel in it.

Thanks for the info, but any of you guys know where can I find that stuff in print somewhere? SCCA doesn't accept the 'some guy on the internet said so' story... I need to find that data stated somewhere 'official' from Nissan..

I think at one time I remember seeing a cross reference from Nissan OEM part number to Garrett part number on their website... so between a JDM FAST copy and that, I could get that to work..

                    Edit...
                    SWEET!
Found the section on Garrett/Honeywell's website again...

now I just need to go hunt me down a copy of FAST with the JDM parts in it.

I can dig up the cross reference from Nissan OEM part number to Garrett part number. Let me know exactly what info you need for each turbo. Also do you need it for the s13, s14 and s15? I won't be able to get to it until after SEMA.

                      BTW I work for Garrett

I think I just found what I need, linked above. But any documentation you can come up with would be much appreciated as well.

I'm trying to get any/all versions of the SR legalized for SCCA so we can have more options than a $$$$ NA KA build or adding 750lb and adapting a VQ30 to RWD (max displacement for me is 3.0L)

matt- what do you have to do to make the VQ30 legal?

I'm literally putting on in my coupe in a week or so. albeit with a KA trans and lots of welding for now, and a 350z trans later in the winter. But over all it's going in stock ecu etc etc with just what it needs to fit in a 240sx with minimal mods.

I don't think he'd have to "do" anything, but the min. weight with that much displacement would kill a 240. You aren't going to make enough power with a 3.0L VQ over a KA24 to make it worth the while of hauling around all that lard.
