  • Turbo inlet gasket

Just wondering what turbo inlet gasket people are using. The steel layered ones Ive been using keep falling apart after only a couple of track days. Heres a pic of what Im using. I have the basic bottom mount setup with a ss manifold.

how flat is the manifold surface? and do you run the exhaust mount on the gearbox mount?
also still using the lock tabs on the manifold nuts?

Running the exhaust bracket that goes to the transmission?

      I'm running this one: http://www.frsport.com/index.php?tar...roduct_id=1945

dunno how to put it in simpler terms man. but if half the weight of the exhaust is on the turbo it is just going to pull on it, potentially stretching the studs and allowing the exhaust to rock side to side.

I was asking the OP, not questioning you

I just skimmed your post and missed that you asked. Redundant redundant.

Iused to fight those once a month (got good at pulling the manifold) now I use nissan gaskets got new nissan studs (Z-32) and use those stupid lock tabs no more problems (bracing the exhaust to the tranny is also VERY helpful

Does anyone have a PN for that bracket that bolts up to the trans mount, and lets the downpipe bolt up to it?

I cannot find that stupid PN on the web. Must be typing the wrong search terms or no one cares lol It's one of those! hahaha

I actually have an extra one that I've been hoarding.

Here is the relevant page from Courtesy parts.

Yeah I stumbled onto that page just now before I read your reply.

I end up with 2 relevant part numbers:

                      20711-S13003 - 12/1991+ CV.DOHC
                      20711-S13001 - 1989-1994 M/T

I have no clue which one I would need lol

Yea I have it mounted to tranny and have the flex in the dp and have the locking tabs. I thought the steel gasket I was using in the pic was the Nissan one. Any links to the Nissan one?

It does look like a Nissan one...

I have no issues with them at all so long as the nuts stay tight. Checked that the two surfaces are flat?

Heres why the gasket kept blowing. The surface has a bunch of little cracks in it. Looks like I need a new exhaust manifold. Unless that can be machined I dont know.
