Yea I know - already did it for the front.

I tried to do a kinematic CATProduct, but it got really complex really quickly trying to drive 3D geometry to influence a 2D relationship. The sketch only took about 10 mins to do after taking measurements.

Make sure on the rear you choose the centerpoint of the IC line the arms make(LCA and camber/traction arm).

Very easy, and if you do your geometric constraints well, you can move it in real time.

You don't want the RC right on the CG, as you don't want roll couple to increase a great amount as you go into a corner.

Cool deal on the CATIA sketch - I did this for the front(with actual measurements) a couple of months ago. It's pretty easy to fix a few points then create an angle constraint and then see what happens with roll as well.

    OK that's good.

Cause I was gonna say, realistically, you would want the roll center to be as close as possible to the CG height if you don't want any roll, so if you were able to calculate the CG height as well, then at least we would be able to find out how much roll center correction we would need for optimal performance, at least for each of our own setups.

    Thanks for sharing that BTW!

Na. Its just my drawing center. but I if I am not mistaken only one mesurment is linked to that point. So I can change it to match a real cg point.

    Gotcha.

Now is the square derived from all the measurements, or did Catia just kinda spit out a CG center all on its own?

The circle is the roll center position. The square its just Catia's reference for the plane. I guess you can think of it as the CG center for the moment.

What is the white circle and the yellow square?

started a topic Roll center fun.

    Roll center fun.

I was doing this in my spare time. I just need the real measurements. It is working, its a part file sketch in catia.

If anyone wants to know their roll center, they can give me their mesurements and I can plot multiple positions.

Here are two pics comparing what would happen if we would drop the rear balljoints. As I said I am just eyeballing it.

Working...
