My throttle position sensor is on its way out, and I'm going to order a new one but have a question before I can get it. So, aparently there is one for an auto and one for 5spd. Now for my delima I have an auto ecu and a 5spd transmission. So is it ecu specific or transmission specific? Thanks in advance.

In that case, get whatever belongs to the engine/harness that's in the car now, not necessarily the ECU. It's been running fine (till now) with the one that's been in it, so just buy the same again.Originally posted by SoSidewaysI don't care what color they are as long as they are LONG AND HARD.

the extra plug on the auto's is for the kickdown switch and closed throttle switch.
your tranny cpu is confused already so it doesn't care whether it gets that info or not, I always remove that plug on my 5sp swapped cars...(every 240sx i've ever bought came auto and left manual) counting 4 nowI am SKULLWORKSComment

a manual tps has a plug on a pigtail coming off the tps
the auto also has a plug built into the face of the tps
if you have a FSM it shows and explains what i just laid out
if you don't have one you need one so get a download copy at the leastI am SKULLWORKSComment
