  • Extrude Hone...Where?

    Howdy,

I'm looking for recommendations (and contact details) to have extrude honing done in the US. I am from Australia and the only place that does this process in Australia won't touch twin scroll exhaust housings because of their previous experience.

I plan on buying a housing from Full-Race and having it shipped directly to the said recommended shop. Its the 3071/76 .78 AR ex housing if that makes any difference. Geoff at full-race has emailed an extrude hone shop (not sure which one) on a few occassions on my behalf but they have not replied....so I have to go it alone.

Preferably, they should have experience with twin scroll housings given the comments from the local shop.

    Cheers,

          Cheers,

I've sent an email to Bonehead Performance who list extrude honing on their website.....so waiting to get a response from them too.

Also Forced Performance have come back and said they don't do extrude honing.

THat's the only 'true' place to goto.

They've done quite a few GTiR manifolds and RWD manifolds now. usually 2 week turnaround. I know your in AUS, but they have places on both US coasts.

Bonehead undoubtedly sends their stuff to Extrude Hone, same state.

Extrude Hone is actually owned by the company I work at. I can't get any kind of discount (I already tried). I would suggest contact the sales number on their website and you should get a response.

Start with the Irwin PA location (that's the headquarters). Most of the other locations are small job shops that don't have dedicated sales support.

just out of curiousity... wonder what the purpose of that partial divider is for. i would think you'd want to remove it entirely or leave it intact for twin scroll. i'm sure theres a reason. their work does look good though.

Pricing is kinda nuts it looks like. I am seeing $595 for the intake mani and $495 for the exhaust.......

I assume it's to help keep the pulses divided.

FWIW: GTiR and Avenir/Bluebird manifolds also have this provision.
